Programme of walks and events.

Walking for the pleasure and enjoyment of the countryside.

Our walks are normally circular & start at 10.00 am. Monday walk leader is Bev 01234 768974 unless stated otherwise. Monday walks are normally about 2 hours 4-5 miles. Sunday walks are a bit longer at 5-6 miles.

We are always looking for new members & non members are welcome to join us.

We do allow well behaved dogs on our walks, unless stated otherwise in the walk description. However dogs must be kept on a short lead and under close control by their owners at all times.

JUNE 2019

Sunday 9 June – Note details changed.  Melchbourne (About 9 miles north of Bedford and is reached by travelling along the A6 towards Rushden.)  The walk starts from the church in Melchbourne. Parking opposite thatched cottages on the road to the church. Grid reference TL028654. Postcode for this is MK44 1BB. – LEADER Pat 07787 893047

Monday 10 June.  Note details changed. We are now starting at the village hall car park in Old Warden SG18 9HQ.  This walk is a little different to our usual one as we’re visiting the nature reserve on top of the Cardington rail tunnel with lovely views .It doesn’t require any more accent than usual on this walk at this stage. Those who wish to and feel able can climb down the steps and see the blocked off rail tunnel too and follow the rail track a little way down then return either back up the steps or via a small hill. There are benches at the top where others who don’t want to do this can take advantage of a rest. The walk is approximately 5 miles. We should be able to have drinks at the pub opposite the car park we’re using.

Sunday 23 June. Sharnbrook. About 5.5 miles starting from the Mill Theatre car park 32A Mill Road, Sharnbrook Bedford, MK44 1NP (on the left shortly after leaving the A6 towards Sharnbrook) Visiting the Felmersham Nature reserve and the Pinchmill Islands.   Leader Gerry 07902451123

Monday 19 August.  The Woolpack, Bedford Road, Wilstead, MK45 3HW, Woodland walk (new) if very hot 3.7 miles, towards Haynes, if cooler 5.3 miles.
