Walking for the pleasure and enjoyment of the countryside.
Our walks are normally circular & start at 10.00 am. Monday walks are normally about 2 hours 4-5 miles. Sunday walks are a bit longer at 5-6 miles.

We ask walkers to comply with any Covid precautions being recommended by the Government guidelines at the time. We may also put in place any additional measures we feel appropriate for your safety and the safety of others. 
Names and contact details of all walkers will be taken and recorded until further notice.
Please do not attend any club events if you are feeling unwell, have any Covid symptoms, have tested positive or should be self isolating. Please be sure to let us know if you test Covid positive shortly after attending a walk.
Well behaved dogs, on a short lead are welcome, unless stated otherwise in the walk description.

Sunday 14th August  – Meet at 10am at Priory Country Park for an easy, flat 5 mile walk round the lake and then along the cycle track to Bedford Embankment, down the left of the River Ouse to Prebend Street bridge then back on the others side of the river. As it is going to be really hot this walk can be shortened at different places.  The Cloverdale cafe is open for drinks when we return and there are toilet facilities.  Please bring plenty of water and sun cream with you.                  Postcode: MK41 9DJ. Monday 15th August –  WALK CANCELLED DUE TO THE HOT WEATHER  Meet at 10am  at The John O’ Gaunt pub, 30, High Street Sutton, Bedford. for a 4.9 mile walk.  The pub will be closed I’m afraid, though we do have permission to use the car park as long as we leave access for the landlords car, a black BMW which may be parked there. Leaving the pub we’ll walk along the streets of this pretty village over or through the ford, if you fancy a paddle, making our way towards the spinney which skirts the golf club then across Galley hill. We then have a little bit of road walking 4/5 mins before crossing to Snow hill and onto tracks crossing fields and into Potton. A short trip through part of a housing estate then back into the Lovely Pegnut woods following  leafy trails back into Sutton .  There are no stiles or significant ascents.   Postcode: SG19 2NE.  LEADER: Joyce.  Mob:07929 246301

Sunday 21st August –  Meet at 10am  at Wilstead Methodist Church, 82, Whitworth Way, Wilstead.  This is a 5 mile walk through Wilstead woods and up the hill where there are stunning views across the valley then along the ridge towards Haynes Turn.  We then come down the hill and following field margins make our way back to the church.  There are no stiles only gates and there may be sheep.  No drink or toilet facilities on this walk.  Postcode: MK45 3DY  LEADER: Sue C.  Mob: 07788 954819

Sunday 28th August –  Meet at 10am Meet at  the triangle at top of Grange road in Blunham. This is a 6 mile walk towards Great Barford, along the river Ouse to Roxton Weir and then on to Tempsford and back along  the river Ivel back to Blunham.  This is an easy walk with one stile. (SAT NAV: PE19 1AA) The entrance is on the right as soon as you pass the Royal Mail sorting office when going out of town.

Sunday 11th September –  Meet at 10am for this 6 mile walk around Little Staughton. Starting from Little Staughton church we walk on high ground around the 13th Century motte and bailey castle once owned by one Sir Adam de Creting in 1275 and where the moat still remains. Good views and field walking towards Staughton Moor, then across fields through a wood circling back again on high ground with good views to an ancient green lane then back across fields to the village. Little Staughton church is in sight for most of the walk. A small bridge to cross and can be muddy and uneven through the woods and down the green lane. Postcode MK44 2BL.  LEADER: Linda. Sunday 18th September –  Meet at 10am  at  The Emmaus Village, School Lane, Carlton. A 5.5 mile walk along to Chellington Church  where ther are some nice views across the country returning to Emmaus via the Allotment Gardens.  One stile and a couple of hills, one as we are returning to Emmaus, there is also some road walking. The Wednesday Wobblers will meet on Wednesday, 21st September at the Longholme Cafe, The Embankment,  Bedford at 10:30 am for a short stroll and coffee.  Weather permitting.  Anyone who is interested, especially any ex-ramblers, will be very welcome.  MK40 3QF
