Bedford Rambling Club 

Programme of walks and events.

Walking for the pleasure and enjoyment of the countryside.

Our walks are normally circular & start at 10.00 am. Monday walk leader is Bev 01234 768974 unless stated otherwise. Monday walks are normally about 2 hours 4-5 miles. Sunday walks a bit longer at 5-6 miles.

We are always looking for new members & non members are welcome to join us.

APRIL 2019

Sunday 21 April – Potton. This walk starts from Brook End Car Park at Potton at 10. am. When entering Potton by B1040 from Sandy when road turns left into Town Centre, immediately after turn right which is signposted Wrestlingworth. Before Fire Station on the right, turn left into small dead end road and car park is on the right.  Walk approx. 5 miles – can be shortened if weather turns horrid.  LEADERS – Judith 01767 640782/07397 007101, Brenda 01767 640623/07934 240325.

Monday 22 April – Meet 10.00am The Cock, 23 High Street, Broom SG18 9NA.

Sunday 28 April – Barton-le-Clay, about 5.5 miles, some hills to climb but the views should be worth it. Park in Old Road (beside the recreation ground), Barton-le-Clay (nearest postcode MK45 4LB) at 10.00am. LEADER – Gerry 07902 451123

Monday 29 April   Meet at the Rose & Crown, 89 High Street, Ridgemont, MK43 0TY – Over to old church remains and back through Woburn Estate.

Monday 13 May. Royal George, Silver Street, Stevington, MK43 7QP. (Car park entrance off Court Lane)  From Stevington to Turvey via Pictshill House Estate, 4.5 miles

Monday 13 May VISIT TO BLETCHLEY PARK. Home of the World War Two Codebreakers. The Bill Tutte exhibition will still be on. If going by train there is a 2 for 1 train offer £19.50 for 2, a voucher can be printed from Bletchley Park website. Also if you have English Heritage membership 20% discount or if you live in areas MK1-19, MK45, MK43-46 50% discount, that needs photo ID and proof of residency. Meet Bedford Station at 9.00am to catch the 9.29am train. There is a discount on the price of the train ticket for bus pass holders. Parking at the station is very limited at that time of day, if coming by car best to use town car park. Monday 3 June. Park at Aspley Heath Lodge, Church Road, Woburn Sands, MK17 8TS. 
(Refreshments half way round at The Fir Tree Inn). Hoping Rhododendrons may be flowering in woods. 4.6 miles

Sunday 9 June – Honeydon, a 5 mile walk. The destination is 7 miles NE of Bedford, travel out on B660 exiting at the Bushmead sign, then right to Honeydon, following the road to Chestnut Farm. Park on road side or at farm (Pat will contact farmer) at 10.00am – LEADER Pat 07787 893047
