Walking for the pleasure and enjoyment of the countryside, the club offers a variety of walking groups to cater for most abilities.
Our walks are normally circular and start at 10.00 a.m.
Monday walks are usually about 2 hours and around 4 – 5 miles. Sunday walks are longer at 5-6 miles. For those walkers who prefer a less challenging option the Leisurely Strollers programme is designed to be shorter and also takes place on a Monday at 10.a.m.
Well behaved dogs, on a short lead are welcome on all groups, unless stated otherwise in the walk description.

Sunday 24th May – Meet at 10 a.m. at Hexton, for this 7.2 mile walk. Meet/park on the road nr the Raven public house. Short road walk plus the odd road crossing, one small stream to cross plus one reasonable to steep hill to climb/walk. Sunday 31st May – Meet at 10 a.m. by the cafe at Priory Country Park for this 5.5 mile walk. We follow the old railway track and go through some of Octagon Wood. Continuing through the main wood we turn left at the bridge and head to the river. We follow the path to Castle Mill lock and then the river back through Priory Country Park to the car park.
