Thursday 1st January – Meet at 10 a.m. at Deepdale near Sandy for about a 5.5 mile walk around the gravel workings, transmitter and field. Sunday 4th January – Meet at Ampthill car park Woburn road , west end car park, for this 6.5 mile walk with relatively little mud! We leave Ampthill and walk over to and around Maulden before returning to Ampthill. Monday 12th January – Meet at 10am at Great Denham in public car park on Kingswood Way, on the right as you enter Great Denham from A6. This is approximately 4 miles of easy walking with a few gates and no stiles. We go along the river to Bromham bridge, back through fields to Biddenham church, along Coffin path to the pond before returning over the golf course and back to start. Postcode: MK40 4FA. Sunday 25th January – Meet at 10am at Cople church for a circular walk of 5.8 miles. An easy, mainly mud free, walk using footpaths and the cycle track around Cople and Willington via the Danish Camp. Two busy roads to cross and a little road walking on a quiet country lane. Sunday 1st February – Meet at Jordan’s Mill SG18 9JX for a 5 mile walk on easy surfaces with minimal mud and no stiles. We skirt round several small lakes, looking for ducks, swans and fishermen, and visit some areas of woodland where we may see flocks of goldfinches, long tailed tits and perhaps redwings and fieldfares. Monday 2nd February – Meet for 10am at the Village Hall car park in Great Barford.  We have permission to park here but please park at the far end in case the hall is in use.  This 4.4 mile walk leaves the village heading north up a gentle incline straight into fields and open countryside.  There is a short walk along a quiet lane crossing over the bypass before again walking along field edges heading towards Wilden.  Open views and lots of sky!  We head west and cross the Barford/Wilden road through more farmland before turning south and following tracks back towards the village.  We go under the bypass and back into the village with a short road walk before pavements take us back to the hall. No gates or styles and mostly flat walking with a couple of short inclines. There will be mud, but it wasn’t too bad today! The Anchor is open from 12pm in the village. Sunday 15th February – Meet at 10.00am in the car park opposite to St Mary’s Church in Woburn.  The walk goes into Woburn Park and past the Safari Park.  Then the route turns towards Aspley Guise, and returns through Birchmoor Green and Woburn High Street.  The distance is just over six miles and there are no stiles. Monday  23rd February  –   Meet at 10am in the car park of The Plough, Bolnhurst for a 5.2 mile walk which circles round to the west before crossing the main road and taking a loop to the east.  No apologies for repeating this familiar route as it’s a decent one for current conditions.  Much of it is on tarmac and tracks, with the rest on grassy field edges.  Mud status on the recce was better than expected.  Post code: MK44 2EX, W3W stupidly.trips.person.  Leader: Geoff.  Mobile: 07962580716.

Monday 2nd March – Meet at 10 a.m. at Woburn Road, Ampthill (turn right off the B530 just before the junction with the A507).  From Ampthill Park over to Cooper’s Hill  (Greensands Ridge) and through the Limes. Crossing through the town (visit to King’s Arms Garden?) then St. Andrews church along climbing towards Houghton Hall along Holly Walk. Then crossing back into Ampthill Park through the woodlands. This is a 4-mile walk. There are several climbs, but walking on mainly well drained ground, a few gates but no stiles. There is a cafe and toilets near the end. W3W///holdings.frocks.saddens.
