Sunday 5th January 10.00. Marston Moretaine. Please park considerately at Bell Public House. 2 Bedford Rd, Marston Moretaine, Bedford MK43 0ND. A gentle start for the New Year with an easy walk of about 5 miles around Stewartby lakes and the Marston Vale Country Park. Sunday 12th January 10.00. A circular ramble from Harrold Odell Country Park passing Chellington Church and walking by Freer’s Wood, Monk’s Wood and Green Spinney into Odell with good views over the Ouse valley. Monday 13th January 10.00. Great Denham, meet at the Golf Club, Carnoustie Drive MK40 4FF. Sunday 2nd February 10.00. A circular ramble from Harrold Odell Country Park walking through the village of Harrold and heading north-west through Park Wood to Three Shires Way. After a few miles on Three Shires Way returning to Harrold. Distance about 7 miles. Monday 3rd February 10.00. Shefford, meet in the free car park, Old Railway Way, SG17 5ED. Walk along the river from car park, through Hardwick Farm, exploring Campton Woods, lots of wood carvings and hopefully snowdrops to look out for. Sunday 9th February 10.00. – Walk Cancelled due to storm warning. With storm Ciara due to hit this area Sunday it has been decided it would be unwise to go ahead with this walk. A 5 mile walk from Go Outdoors on Norse Road through the Howbury Hall Estate, out to Renhold and Wilden and back. Meet at Go Outdoors Car Park 10am. MK41 0QN. Sunday 16th February 10.00. Hail Weston to Grafham Water. Meeting just before Hale Weston ford, PE19 5JR. Walking over fields and beside woods to Grafham Water where we may see some wildlife as well as the reservoir. 7 miles approximately. Sunday 1st March—Radwell. Meeting at 10am for a pleasant circular walk of approximately 5 miles in a variety of landscape settings including Pavenham Golf Course and the River Ouse. Follow the road past Milton Ernest Garden Centre , just before you get to Radwell there is a small grassed area on the right where it is ok to park. Sunday 8th March.10.00 Woburn. 5 – 5.5 mile circular walk starting at St Marys Church in Woburn round beautiful countryside with splendid views, followed by a coffee in the lovely high Street. There will a few hills to climb but it is fairly well drained so there should not be too much mud. Parking in free car park opposite St Mays Church, Park Street Woburn MK17 9PG. Monday 9th March 10.00. The Cross Keys, 159 High Street, Cranfield. MK43 0JB DUE TO MUD PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF WALK. Start from the Cross Keys and walk along John Bunyan Trail towards Holcott woods, may see some primroses. Sunday 2nd August— Meet at 10am. 5 miles around Renhold, starting from Wentworth Drive and through the Howbury Hall Estate to Wilden. 2 stiles. If coming from Church lane end turn left at the roundabout – Wentworth Drive/Dover Crescent and then sharp left again, park at the far end or in the road on the right, Dunster Gardens. Sunday 9th August— Meet at 10am. Houghton Conquest – Rectory Lane. A 5 mile walk approximately, climbing up ‘Hill Difficulty’ to ‘House Beautiful’ from John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress then along the ridge for some fine views if the weather is clear. Monday 10th August – Meet at 10am. Ridgmont to Woburn Park. Meet at the Rose & Crown Pub for a 5 mile walk including some hills. The address is 89, High Street, Ridgmont. Postcode: MK43 0TY . There is now just one narrow entrance (that was the exit) to the car park as the owner has erected a marquee across the entrance. There will be no toilet facilities available. Sunday 30th August— Meet at 10am. Eversholt – A 6 mile walk. Meet at Eversholt Village Hall (SP981327) Postcode: MK17 9DS If coming from M1 J13 the postcode beings you to Eversholt, Tyrrells End. Continue on, after 100 yards ignore the right turn, after 200 yards turn right at cream coloured Eversholt Hall sign and then right again through metal gates into the over flow car park. Sunday 27th September – Meet at 10am – Maulden woods to Maulden church. – The walk is 4.5 miles long and is a very attractive circular walk. Hopefully the leaves will be in full autumn colour. The paths are a little uneven in places and there are a number of small hills. No stiles, but numerous kissing gates. Sunday 4th October – Meet at 10am at Bedford Park Gates. Park Avenue (Top of De Pary’s Avenue) for a walk just under 5 miles going through the park to Mallard Hill (a bit of a climb), pass the allotments to open fields into Clapham Woods, doubling back to Mallard Hill (down this time) back into the park passing the cafe, maybe coffee? Monday 12th October – Meet at 10am in the public car park Kingswood Way (on the right as you enter Great Denham from the A428 bypass. Do NOT go to the golf club) Approximately 4 miles of easy walking with a few gates but no stiles. Sunday 25th October – Meet at 10am. Starting from Priory Business Park, Priory Country Park car park, (Not Barker’s Lane car park) turn left off Stannard Way and follow the road to the end. A 4.5 mile easy flat walk, no stiles, around the finger lakes and along the River Ouse. We can have a break at the cafe by the lake. Please bring a mask as you will need it for ordering drinks. Sunday 6th December – Meet at 10am An enjoyable 6 mile scenic route with good views. Start at Green Sands Ridge Walk Car Park, Station Road, Millbrook walking on the edges of the Test Track, golf course and Centre Parks. Good underfoot surfaces with no stiles and 3 short hills. Monday 7th December – Meet at 10am at the main car park (by the Cafe) Priory Country Park, Barkers Lane, Bedford. An easy walk of about 4 miles to get everyone started again after lockdown. Out along the meadows at the back of Riverfield Drive then following the river towards Castle Lock before looping round and heading for home. There will be the option of going round the Priory lake on the way back or taking a short cut saving about 0.5 miles. Fairly level walking but could be a bit muddy. Postcode: MK41 9RX LEADER: Gerry. Monday 14th December – Meet at 10am A 4.3 mile walk starting from Aspley Guise car park, The Common, West Hill. This new walk is quite different to the one we recently did with Pam before lock down and just as varied and scenic.
